     Language Arts

Welcome to the Language Arts Classroom! This is going to be an exciting year. Please log in to your google classroom for specific class information.
This year ELA will be run very differently. You are going to be asked to be responsible for your learning, set goals, and be an active member of our class community. The class will be designed to have a more rigorous structured learning environment. We will be heavily focusing on the standards and setting a purpose for learning in each lesson. The goal is to have the class be more interactive incorporating spelling, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and reading into our daily lessons. Assignments will be more diverse, collaborative, and comprehensive. Oncourse Assessments will be more prevalent. Ongoing formative assessments will also take place to help students measure their growth throughout the year. Formative assessments will be used to help students grow instead of just measuring where they are. Don't stress over this new adventure we will be embarking on, but come willing to embrace the change. The first step of our new adventure will be learning our new class routine and preparing for the Start Strong Assessment that will be given in the middle of September. If at any time you have any questions about next year please reach out through message or email.

     Supplies!

This year I am asking that you supply any materials you think will help you be a better learner. There will be basic supplies in the classroom including; writing paper, pencils, pens, erasers, scissors, glue, construction paper, crayons, and markers. If you would like to bring in any of your own materials feel free however you are not obligated. You can always ask for me to add supplies to the classroom if you feel anything else would benefit us. However, you do not need to purchase anything for class next year, unless you feel it will benefit you.
